Yakima Herald-Republic

Hawks-Yearout

Susan Hawks and Fred P. Yearout announce their engagement. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Donald Arvson Jr. of Kirkland, Wash., and Donna Nach of Bothell, Wash. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Peggy Yearout of Yakima and the late Rev. Paul "Tex" Yearout.

The bride-to-be is employed with the Ellensburg School District. The bridegroom-to-be is employed with the Yakima Herald-Republic.

An August outdoor wedding is planned.

 

Stickel-Lund

Danielle Kristian Stickel and Brian Donald Lund have announced their engagement. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dave and Patty Lester of Port Orchard, Wash. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Loren and Barbara Lund of Yakima, and Darlene and Don Smith of Selah.

The bride-to-be graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in geology and teaching and her master's degree from City University in English as a second language. She is a science teacher at Selah Junior High School. The bridegroom-to-be earned his bachelor's degree in education and environmental science from Central Washington University and his master's degree in school administration from Heritage University. He is a science teacher at Washington Middle School.

A Sept. 13 wedding is planned at the Yakima Area Arboretum.

 

Bare-Allen

Thomas and Rebecca Bare of Goldendale, and Kelly and Susan Allen of Cashmere, Wash., announce the engagement of their children, Rachel Mary Bare and Austin James Allen.

The bride-to-be graduated from Goldendale High School and earned a degree in recreation management from Northwest Nazarene University. She is employed by the Hermiston, Ore., Parks and Recreation Department. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from Cashmere High School and earned a business degree from NNU. He is a sales account manager for Hermiston RDO Equipment, a John Deere dealership.

A Sept. 6 wedding is planned in The Dalles, Ore.

 

Ziegeweid-Kassebaum

Faye Ziegeweid and Nicholas "Nick" Kassebaum have announced their engagement. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bernard and Michele Ziegeweid of Arcadia, Wis. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Jim and Ona Kassebaum of Outlook.

The bride-to-be graduated from Arcadia High School and Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. She is a data management specialist for Planned Parenthood in Seattle. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from Sunnyside High School, Macalester College and Vanderbilt Medical School in Nashville, Tenn. He is a resident physician in anesthesiology at University of Washington in Seattle.

A Sept. 6 wedding is planned at the bride's family farm in Arcadia, with a reception Oct. 4 in Seattle.

 

Holmes-Guild

Kevin and Linda Holmes of Yakima announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Holmes, to Tavis Guild. He is the son of Carol Eckart of Wyoming and Fred Guild of Newark, Del.

The bride-to-be graduated from West Valley High School and Yakima Valley Community College. She attended Rio Vida Bible School in Spain and is pursuing a teaching degree from Central Washington University. She is a videographer and owns Memory Montage Productions. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from West Valley High School and YVCC. He is pursing a degree in network administration from CWU. He is a videographer with Memory Montage Productions.

A Sept. 13 wedding is planned at the First Baptist Church in Yakima.

 

Barlow-Holt

Mark and Laurie Barlow of Yakima announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Ann Barlow, to Richard Edward Holt. He is the son of Deanna and Dean Knapp, and Vern and Rhonda Holt, all of Yakima.

The bride-to-be graduated from Naches Valley High School and attended Yakima Valley Community College. The bridegroom-to-be earned an associate degree from YVCC. They are employed at Laredo Drive-In.

A May 21, 2009, wedding is planned at Cascade Garden.

 

Gadd-Dahl

Tanner James Dahl announces the engagement of his parents, Nicole K. Gadd and Justin R. Dahl. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rick and Debbie Gadd of Olympia, Wash. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Randy and Bev Dahl of Yakima, and Denise and Wade Clements of Spokane.

The bride-to-be graduated from Tumwater High School and is a hair stylist. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from East Valley High School and is employed in construction.

An August wedding is planned at the White Pass Ski Lodge.

 

Brown-Maier

Russell and Marcia Brown of Moses Lake, Wash., announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie Ann Marcella Brown, to Michael Gerhart Maier. He is the son of Dick and Barbie Maier of Moses Lake.

The bride-to-be graduated from Moses Lake High School and plans to earn her bachelor's degree in public relations with a minor in business from Central Washington University in December. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from Moses Lake High School and earned a degree in paramedicine with a minor in business from CWU. He is a paramedic.

An August wedding is planned in Moses Lake.

 

Gunnier-Hanson

Jamie Lynn Gunnier and Joshua Tai Hanson announce their engagement. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robin Gunnier of Wapato, and Eddie and Debbie Gunnier of Toppenish. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Diana and Chris Hanson of Wapato.

The bride-to-be earned her associate degree from Yakima Valley Community College and plans to earn her bachelor's degree in agriculture education from Washington State University in May 2009. The bridegroom-to-be earned a degree from YVCC as an information technology hardware support specialist and served in the Marine Corps.

A Sept. 20 wedding is planned at the Harrah Brethren Church with a reception to follow at the Eagles Hall in Toppenish.

 

Stewart-Whiley

Randy and Maurene Stewart of White Swan announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Lynn Stewart, to Jason Richard Whiley. He is the son of Richard and Almeda Whiley of Yakima.

The bride-to-be graduated from White Swan High School and Sakie International College of Cosmetology. She is a dance instructor at the Kent School of Dance and a stylist at the Yakima Training Center. The bridegroom-to-be graduated from Davis High School. He is a sales associate at 40th Avenue BiMart.

An Oct. 18 wedding is planned at Cascade Garden.

 

Doll-Pessemier

James Doll, Mary Hargreaves and Vicki Schroeder, all of Yakima, and Mike Pessemier of Graham, Wash., announce the engagement of their children, Jamie June Doll and Christopher Allen Pessemier.

A Sept. 13 wedding is planned in Yakima.
